Best National Scrapbook Day, EVER!

Hello, Gorgeouses!

Oh, it has been fun reading about what everyone was enjoying last Saturday, during the National Scrapbook Day, hasn't it?  The online blog-hops, in-store events and even home studio work - lots of scrappy friends set aside the day to indulge in their passions.

I, for one, had the best National Scrapbook Day, ever!  Scheduled for the first Saturday in May, I knew I was going to be away from home in New England during the celebrations.  I had been hearing about the local crops and I was feel a bit left out, because I knew I was going to be miss them this year.

As the Saturday was approaching in the Land of the Mouse, (that's Orlando, Florida, for those of you who don't have children yet) I was just itching to do SOMETHING scrappy.  I hopped online and googled "Scrapbooking Orlando May 4."  Do you know what popped up??  SCRAPBOOK EXPO!

Oh, I was {happy, Happy, HAPPY!}  It was the perfect opportunity to have the boys of the family drop us off for a scrappy experience at Gaylord Palm Convention Center (WOW!) while they went off to Bass Pro Shop!  Win/win!
Yes, this is INSIDE the Gaylord Palm Hotel ~
My daughter and I walked up and registered for Scrapbook Expo, put our name in for the free drawing,  and away we went - shopping!

Our first stop was at our friend, Angela's, booth from The Button Farm.  Always terrific kits!  Plus, now, they're featuring FarmHouse Paper, too!

We enjoyed a free Make-N-Take at DeNami Designs.  **Nami, herself, will be up in New England offering free demonstrations at Kept Creations in Whitman, MA on May 31st.**
Lorraine from Scrapbook Expo was offering a booth full of different Make-N-Takes all day.  We had a terrific opportunity to try Epiphany Crafts' newest item, Shape Studio along with coordinating charms, which we personalized for a necklace.  As you can see, it was a big hit!
When we stopped in to see Cathi at the Epiphany Crafts booth, she showed us a wonderful way to use the Shape Studio idea, packaged up perfectly for kids - Crafty Bands!

We might have missed our friend from NH, Suzanne, from The Eyelet Outlet, at the show, but we had a wonderful buying experience with her husband, Tony!  He was so nice!  The Pollard Family can NOT resist buying those creative brads - especially the ones with matching ribbon!
Now, I've talked about the amazing work of The Paper Wizard before.  Well, they did not fail to impress once again.  Susan and I, both, dropped a LOAD of money with the designer, Eric.  They really offer distinctive pieces that can NOT be found anywhere else!

So that was OUR very special 2013 National Scrapbook Day at Scrapbook Expo as intrepid mother/daughter New England crafters in Orlando, Florida.  I hope you had as much fun marking the occasion as we did!
Happy Day, Laurel
